The goal of this work is to optimise the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) using a novel catalyst called Fe/KCC-1 that is made from palm oil furl ash (POFA). The catalyst is made by incorporating iron (Fe) into mesoporous KCC-1. The aim is to maximise photocatalytic performance by using Fe's catalytic properties along with KCC-1's wide surface area. By employing POFA as a sustainable precursor in the synthesis process, environmentally conscious procedures are used. The objectives of this study are to investigate the optimum condition of MB degradation onto Fe/KCC-1(POFA) by Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and evaluate the reusability of MB degradation onto Fe/KCC-1(POFA) at optimum conditions. Through a methodical investigation of critical factors which are catalyst dosage, initial MB concentration, and pH solution, the photocatalytic degradation of MB is optimised. The experimental results are examined to see how each parameter influences the efficiency of MB degradation. Based on the optimisation results, pH solution is the most significant factor affecting MB degradation, and there is a strong correlation between pH and MB removal efficiency. To ascertain Fe/KCC-1(POFA)'s long-term viability, ascertain its recyclability. Reusability without appreciable performance loss is indicated by strong stability. In short, the goal of the study is to maximise the photocatalytic degradation of MB by using Fe/KCC-1 from POFA. To improve the efficiency, variables like MB initial concentration, pH solution, and catalyst dosage are investigated. The results showed that a catalyst dosage of 3 g/L, a pH of 6, and an initial MB concentration of 10 mg/L are the ideal values. The study also discovered that a critical element influencing the photocatalytic process is the pH solution. Through this study too, Fe/KCC-1(POFA) can be reactivated 3 times.
