The aim of this study is to identify the effect of blending the poly (lactic acid) (PLA) plasticized by palm oil with graphene nanocomposites (GNP) to identify the effect of different composition of graphene on the plasticized PLA/palm oil in term of mechanical, thermal, and morphological properties of composite. The sample was prepared by introduced into twin screw extruder with a die 25mm width and 0.5mm thickness with the temperature profile of 250℃, 210℃, 200℃, 200℃, 190℃, 180℃ and 165℃ from feed zone towards the die zone with rotation speed of 50 rpm. Sample formed in a wire form then being pelletized via pelletizer machine. Then, the samples were being moulded via the hot and cold pressing and moulded into a dimension of (200mm long x 200mm wide x 2mm thick). Next, each sample were tested in their tensile strength and the sample with the good mechanical properties was selected to proceed to other testing to compare their properties with plasticized PLA/palm oil. This selection of sample is because to evaluate the sample formulation of PLA/palm oil/GNP that having the critical content of GNP which give the most stable properties than plasticized PLA/palm oil. The testing was included Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Finally, all the result from the testing is being compared between two samples.
