To create a composite material with certain electrical properties, many different dielectric materials are combined to make a dielectric composite material (Ngo, 2020). By combining various dielectric materials, one can create a composite material with certain electrical properties, such as high dielectric strength, low dielectric constant, and low loss factor. To produce a material with the required electrical properties, the process of making a dielectric composite material often involves a combination of material selection, mixing, shape, sintering, and characterization. The aim of this study is to apply sugarcane waste as a base substance in the production of dieletric materials. In addition, it also to analyze the important factors in sugarcane waste preparation as dieletric materials. To determine the best factor for cellulose content and permittivity, the experiment was designed according to Factorial Analysis (FA) of Design Expert software with four (4) parameters which are sugarcane waste weight, ratio of sugarcane waste (SW) to distilled water (DW), boiling time, and cutting length. The range of each factor is 0.5g and 2.5g, 1:15 and 1:20, 30 min and 50 min, and 5 cm and 10 cm respectively. The sample was analyzed for percentage of cellulose content using Kurschner’s and Hanack’s method while for the permittivity value using Agilent Vector Network (VNA). The result shows that SW:DW ratio and boiling time is the most significant factor in determining the cellulose content and permittivity value. The best condition obtained in this study were 2.5g of sugarcane waste, 1:20 of ratio SW to DW, 50 minutes of boiling time, and cutting length of 10cm with 47.25% and 3.11654 for cellulose content and permittivity value respectively. To conclude, sugarcane waste can act as a potential base for dielectric materials with its high cellulose content and permittivity value. Keywords: Dieletric Materials; Sugarcane Waste (SW); Factorial Analysis (FA); Cellulose Content, Permittivity Value
