The current state of river water is very alarming, some of the problems that occur because of human activities that make river into a household garbage disposal and industrial waste disposal. River is the pulse to life. The early history of human civilization begins along the river. In recognition of this important interaction between rivers and human life, assessment should be made to make this natural resource the best as possible and provide useful benefits for the whole life. This study was conducted to explore the feasibility of using an activated carbon from rice husk to treat water. The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential of these sorbents to be used in water treatment and to determine the selected physical and adsorptive properties of the sorbents. The physical characteristics include size, volume, and the type required to effectiveness of rice husk to remove any contaminant. This study uses rice husk to measure the effectiveness to remove the contaminant in rainwater. The results of this analysis can be used to find either the rice husk could remove any contaminant in rainwater or not. The findings may be able to help reduce on water supply issues in Pulau Tioman, Pahang Darul Makmur.
