This study investigated the impact of knowledge management on firm innovative performance. Specifically, the five objectives of this research were (1) to examine the impacts of knowledge management infrastructures on firm innovative performance, (2) impacts of knowledge management processes on firm innovative performance and (3) impacts of transformational leadership to firm innovative performance and (4) to assess the moderating effect of transformational leadership on the relationship between knowledge management infrastructures and firm innovative performance and (5) that between knowledge management processes and firm innovative performance. This study adopted a quantitative research method using a questionnaire to collect data from 200 managers in each participating public listed service company in Malaysia. The SPSS was used in the preliminary analysis for data screening and normality test, and other relevant assumptions. With the assistance of SmartPLS 3.0, the partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to test research hypotheses. This study found that (1) knowledge management infrastructures (i.e. technological, cultural and structural infrastructures) statistically significant and positive affect the firm innovative performance of Malaysian public listed service companies. (2) A statistically significant and positive effect exists between knowledge management processes (i.e. acquisition, creation and utilisation processes) and firm innovative performance of Malaysian public listed service companies. (3) The association between transformational leadership and firm innovative performance of Malaysian public listed service companies is statistically significant and positive. (4) The moderating effect of transformational leadership on the relationship between knowledge management infrastructures and firm innovative performance of Malaysian public listed service companies is statistically significant and negative. (5) transformational leadership statistically significant and negative affects the relationship between knowledge management processes and firm innovative performance of Malaysian public listed service companies. This study made significant contributions in theory and management. Theoretically, this study originally carried out to explore the moderating effect of transformational leadership in the relationship between knowledge management and firm innovative performance. Managerially, this study contributed to Malaysian public listed service companies by helping them understand how knowledge management can improve firm innovative performance from knowledge management infrastructures and knowledge management processes perspectives. This study also helped the Malaysian public listed service companies aware that the transformational leadership style is the key to improving firm innovative performance.
