This study aims to develop and evaluate a botanical body lotion infused with pomegranate extract. Triethanolamine and a more natural alternative, apple cider vinegars, were used as pH balancers. The developed lotions were assessed for parameters such as color, odor, viscosity, pH and stability, meeting skin and lotion standards. Heavy metal analysis using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) confirmed safe levels of iron and copper. Antioxidant activity and antibacterial test showed significant scavenging and inhibitory with botanical body lotion outperforming commercial lotion against Escherichia coli. This highlights the potential of natural ingredients to create effective, safer body lotions with reduced synthetic components. |
