| Summary, etc. |
Drilling operations require mud systems for withstanding high temperatures. This can be achieved by using novel substances equipped with the potential for high-density drilling fluids and better environmental compliance. The shortcoming in this regard is experienced in high-temperature zones whereby drilling fluids such as lignosulfonates do not show anticipated intended performances. This study deals with modification in lignosulfonates by using phosphorous compounds. Such a fundamental scientific approach addresses rheology, thermal stability, and fluid loss from 30-200°C perforations. These modified materials were established through diverse characterization techniques including FTIR, TGA, SEM, XRD, elucidating that chemical modifications were successful, and the structures were modified. Sympathetic fluids will develop an optimized rheological performance where viscosity, gel strength, and yield, as well as thermal stability, are treated. With high-temperature filtration tests, the new lignosulfonates in drilling fluids managed effectively lower fluid loss while keeping mud cake integrity intact. These results will build evidence to suggest that phosphorusmodified lignosulfonates can potentially contribute to the enhanced efficiency and environmentally sustainable operation of high-temperature oil wells. Field tests are necessary for the next consideration, so that further optimization may be implemented with the goal of industrial development. |
