This project presents an alternative image detection compared to other device currently used worldwide today. The system is implemented on PIC32MX360F512L microcontroller platform to interface with camera device. The capturing device used is C328R JPEG compression module that performs as a video camera or a JPEG compressed still camera. Briefly, the system starts when camera captures the 2D image obstacle. Images captured then send to microcontroller and then send through RS232 to display the image on computer screen while microcontroller starts the black and white image processing method. The pixel value of the image captured then is compared to the shape value that already designated by user. One of the LED that designated for each type of the shape recognised by the system will blink to identify the shape of the captured image. If the image captured is unrecognisable one LED will blink signal that there is no shape detected. The advantages of this system are its mobility. The system is small in size and therefore can bring to anywhere. Besides, low cost also its major advantage, because its use microcontroller and low cost component. |
