The quick growth of both urban functions and the number of population who own and use motor vehicles in their daily activities has increased the demand for vehicle parking spaces. The definition of parking is the space that has been provided as well¬planned as a place to put the car or the other type of vehicle. The study on parking is important to ensure that the parking space and the parking facility is enough to accommodate the current needs. There are several problems that related with the parking areas. Among the problem that always occurred are there are not enough parking spaces and the facility for the disable people also are not provided. Besides that, the security facility also has not been taken into consideration while producing the car park design. The purpose of the study is to study on the existing parking system. Other than that, this study also focuses on the problems that arise at the parking area. The selected study area is Kuantan Parade shopping complex. As we know, Kuantan Parade is one of the shopping complexes that can be found in Kuantan, where people come to this place for shopping. In order to get the information or data about the parking issue in this place, questionnaires have been distributed to the customer as respondent. Besides that, the customer also has been asked about their opinion on the parking issue at Kuantan Parade. The analysis of the data was done using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software. Through this study, it be concluded that the main problem for the parking is there are no facility for the disable people and also the number of the parking space are not enough especially during the peak hour. -Author |
