Water that store in the Tasik Chini can change in volume through many process. The hydrology process that occur at Tasik Chini can be describe in term of components of its water budget. The objectives of this project is to study the hydrology process that occur at the Tasik Chini and determine principle of water budget at the Tasik Chini. The water exchange for the Tasik Chini can describe as inflow and outflow of the water to the lake. The water exchange of Tasik Chini which is inflow and outflow process depends on the season whether wet season or dry season. For the inflow process, the water budget including precipitation, groundwater inflow and also surface water inflow. For outflow or losses of water from the lake, the water budget including surface water outflow, evaporation and groundwater outflow. The equipment used for collecting the data are water level logger and rain gauge. The data was collected every two weeks at the site. The data is divided and analyses into two parts that is wet season and dry season. Wet season is between August until September while dry season is starting middle September until October. During wet season, which is high precipitation rate, the level of water in Tasik Chini is increase. The groundwater level also increase. Rainfall is the large contributor for increasing the level of water in lake. During dry season or dry period, the precipitation rate is low and the lake level and groundwater level is decrease. The level of water above the dam which is flowing to the Sg. Pahang also low. The water exchange pattern is very depends on the season. -Author |
