Innovation of industrial waste as a partial cement replacement for the production of concrete is gaining importance in recent years. The objective of this research is to study the effect of Processed Spent Bleaching Earth as a partial cement replacement on the strength and durability of foamed concrete. Foamed concrete (FC) mix for density of 1600kg/m3 was designed as basic control mix with 100% OPC. Processed Spent Bleaching Earth Foamed Concrete mixes (PFC) were designed by partial replacement of cement with 30% and 40% of PSBE by weight of cement namely as PFC1 and PFC 2 respectively. The compressive and flexural strength developments due to water curing for 7, 28 and 90 days were studied. As compared to the control mix, the compressive and flexural strength of foamed concrete increases as the percentage of PSBE increases. Further, the resistance against carbonation of foamed concrete decrease as percentage of PSBE increases. |
