Energy is required in almost all aspect of everyday life including agricultural, drinking water, lighting, health care, telecommunication and industrial activities. Wind energy is classified as the pollution free power sources that can be harnessing to gain an electrical power at almost all location. Wind data is collected at five stations in Malaysia which is Johor (Senggarang), Pahang (Gebeng), Perak (Teluk Intan), Perlis (Kuala Perlis) and Selangor (Rawang) were analyzed for wind energy potential. The data were collected over a year period starting from January 2018 to December 2018 using ultrasonic wind sensors that is installed at TNB telecommunication tower. The results were presented as a table mean speed of wind, median speed of wind with unit of meter per second (m/s) and direction with analysis indicated that the station at Kuala Perlis has the greatest potential, with a mean speed of 3.69 m/s. The major direction of the wind speed of Kuala Perlis is come from north east. |
