This report represents an overview of my industrial training at Advanced Ceramics Technology Sdn. Bhd. which begun on 13th Feb 2012 until 27th July 2012. My supervisor is Dr.Vetrimurugan who is the R&D Manager in this company. This report mainly discussed about the company profile, training /practices and its relation to industrial chemistry and the projects or studies I have undertaken in this company. The objectives of industrial training are to provide pre-professional work experience with specific assignments and responsibilities, to encourage/stimulates a personal career interests, serving as a bridge between university and the world of work and to encourage students to apply the skills and knowledge gained at the university to benefit the organizations. As a partial requirement for Bachelor of Industrial chemistry, all final year students from University Malaysia Pahang are required to undergo minimum 24 weeks of industrial training at their final semester. During my industrial training, I attended some training and practices which was related to industrial chemistry course. Practice section includes the instrument (Liquid Particle Counter) that I handled during my industrial training. The training section includes the cleaning strategy of CREST ultrasonic. During my training, I was assigned to a few routine tasks which involve daily, weekly and monthly. My daily tasks are to get update from sales department. As the improvement is needed in certain process and parts, I had to design a better cleaning method for the hard disk drive components and some electric components. Besides that, I was also given the task to complete a project to identify performance of megasonic systems and performance of ultrasonic in recycling spent lubricant. Furthermore, I was also given the task to complete a project of extraction of palm olein and gum from crude palm oil using ultrasonic technique. This project is still under study. During the industrial training, skills are developed; new skills are acquired and existing skills are further improved. |
