By combining hydroponics and aquaculture, aquaponics is a method for growing plants using aquaculture wastewater, combining the farming of fish and the soilless cultivation of plants. This method purports to be low in pesticide use, good in water efficiency, and low in fertilizer consumption. If done right, it has the potential to completely replace conventional farming practices. This research proposes an IoT-driven automation control system that uses sensors and Arduino ESP32 microcontroller to monitor and adjust the parameters (pH, turbidity, TDS, temperature, and water level) in aquaponic systems, in contrast to manual procedures. An IoT application transmits real-time data to Google Sheet, where it is shown on an OLED. Turbidity sensor and pH sensor used to make sure turbidity value (<10Ntu) and pH (6.5<pH<9). If out of range, water changes will occur. Using an Arduino ESP32 microcontroller and the Internet of Things, an ultrasonic sensor aids in the monitoring of the water level in the tank to maintain the desired water level which is not less than 10-cm when water pumping out, and not exceed 28-cm when water pumping in the tank. The findings demonstrate that the proposed Smart Automation control and IoT for aquaponic system may be used to monitor and manage the parameters.
