His grandoughter Xu Lijie comes back from the USafter finishing her studies. Everything is going well with Uncle Xu except for one thing, his leading cook. Shen Fei, although clever and skillful, is fond of frying "stinky bean curd" each day. In the influential cook-off, the Gathering of Famous Restaurants", Jiang Shan, a cook from Beijing, defeats three other famous chefs. Jiang Shan reveals the true purpose of his trip is to get the "Flowery March" tablet. Everyone pays close attention to this dispute except Shen Fei, who is distressed by how to persuade Xu Lijie to stay. Yi Daoxian, a legendary figure, turns up in the fray. But the end of the story is quite a suprise.
