Subject(s): Dissertation note: Project paper (Bachelor of Civil Engineering) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang - 2007 Abstract: Generally, flow rate, Q (m3/s) is the quantity of fluid flowing per unit time across any section. Flow rate, Q (m3/s) may express in term of volume flow rate (m3/s), mass flow rate (kg/s), or weight flow rate (Ibis). Flow rate equation can be expressed Q = A * V, where is A represent area of cross sectional area and V represent a velocity of the fluid. The process of measuring stream flow (volume rate of flow), or discharge, is called stream gauging. There are many methods stream gauging that can be used. Since the velocity of a stream varies with depth and width across a stream, it is important to understand to measure when choosing a stream gauging method. This study had being done in order to determine the water flow rate along Sungai Kuantan at Sungai Lembing. Sungai Kuantan is a river in Pahang state of Malaysia. It runs from Sungai Lembing through Kuantan city before flowing out to South China Sea. The study area is located at Sungai Lembing in the district of Kuantan, Pahang. The distance of this place is about 45 Ian from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and 42 km from Kuantan town. 5 location was choosen as an un gauged station which is station 1, station 2, station 3, station 4, and station 5. Velocity area method has been choosen as a method to determine the flow rate. Stream flow information is very important, which is it can be used for global water balances, engineering design, flood forecasting, water supply and many more. -Author
