Dissertation note: Project paper (Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems & Networking) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang - 2012 Abstract: Attendance is a very important element in current society. University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is one of the universities that still using the paper based to record the student attendance. This thesis is proposed to replace the previous attendance sheet generation to new generation which is using fingerprint to take attendance. This project is developed by using Biomini Fingerprint Reader and finger print for each of the student. Previously our lecturer needs to use the attendance sheet to get the student attendance. There are lots of the problems by using the attendance sheet to record student attendance such as cheating and wrongly signed by the student. With this project, it helps the lecturer reduce the problem such as summarizing student attendance. This system is developed by using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approaches. The project system was running by get the fingerprint of the student to compare with the database in the My SQL. Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Professional to make the database easier to access.
