New Al-alloys were developed by recycling automotive scrap. Microstructure, chemical composition and mechanical properties of these alloys strongly influence the machinability of the later. It is essential to investigate the machinability of the new alloys developed in this work in order to manufacture components out of them. Surface roughness and built-up-edge (BUE) are known to be some of the key parameters to judge the machinability. Hence, these two measurement methods were used to estimate the machinability of the new recycled alloys. In the industry automotive, in year about 90 % of aluminium scrap from auto motive more than a half million tons a year the aluminium scrap was produce. The one ton of aluminium scrap will save the energy of 21 barrels of oil; effect from that it will save the nature and money. Recycled aluminium scrap alloy will be melt in a furnace and added with other element during the casting, at different temperature with different amount composition percentage of element addition. After samples were produced, they will undergo to the next stage by testing the surface roughness for each sample and also observe the built-up edge to see which sample has a good and low machinability characteristic.
