Dissertation note: Project paper (Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering)) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang – 2013 Abstract: The increase usage of electronic data had made the information searching hard. Since the invention of computer and word processing using computer, many people shift their information from paper to electronic data. The main purpose of shifting is because electronic storage is bigger, environmental friendly and could be managed easily. But more and more tones of electronic data being created and stored over the local storage or internet. It makes searching information required harder with tones of almost similar or not similar information available. In this research will using LUCENE as the main technique for doing searching. LUCENE is a new technique created 100% by Java, mainly for searching purpose which is being evaluated with fast and accurate search results. Besides, it also enables adding more indexes to database for searching and could integrate with other language. With LUCENE, the system could expand it searches to websites and other form of information.
