Dissertation note: Project Paper (Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering (Hons.)) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang – 2016 Abstract: This project discussed about the improvement of 5S performance, health and safety. The KBB Rompin had faced a problem which is in their 5S performance and safety such as, at the factory has too much dust, the paddy and husk in open space and the sound of machines also noisy. Their workers also not wear a safety protection while doing a job. Next, the arrangement of tools in that factory is scattered. To make the factory condition better, the dusk need to be eliminate or reduce, while the noise level in the factory must be lowered and the tools in the factory must be arrange. To accomplish the research, first method use is identifying a problem which is the checking existing problems that occurs in the factory. Then, the problems being observe through various method using root cause analysis, Ishikawa diagram and 5W1H. From the analysis, the result was obtains and major problems being identified in the KBB Rompin. The most problems that workers faced on that factory are dust, machines noise and also improper arrangement of tools. The result for this problem is wearing the ear plug as a hearing protection in term to improve the safety and health. By using the dust buster in the factory, the dust problem also reduced. Besides, the arrangement tool improved by implement the 5S Maps in the production line. Through the result obtain from the analysis the implementation of 5S principle can improve the factory performance. Through this study, it will help KBB Rompin to improve their 5S performance, health and safety.
