Dissertation note: Thesis (Doctor of Philosophy) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang – 2022 Abstract: The Islamic medication practice has various dimensions. Some have been well established and widely practiced, and some are not yet being explored and understood in depth. Among those are the method of patting or moderate hit with combination of ruqyah, zikrullah, muroqabah, salawat dan doa to a certain point on one’s body. This study aims to develop a treatment module to help curing various diseases. It is known as Islamic Spiritual Reflexology (RSI). Basically, this study is an exploratory research which applies major-qualitative and minor-quantitative approaches. For qualitative method, the data is obtained through library studies and also 25 years observations by researcher on the effects and responses of patients who used RSI. To strengthen the module development, the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement & Evaluate) is used as a framework. The RSI module underwent the process of data analysis, followed by designing and developing its content. The draft of RSI module was evaluated by 5 field experts. Then, the module was applied on 70 respondents to evaluate its effectiveness. This phase involves a minor-quantitative method in which the process was done randomly and only met the minimum sampling requirements. The findings of this study are: (i) Islamic Spiritual Reflexology (RSI) treatment method has a basis in the Quran and sunnah; (ii) A complete and comprehensive RSI treatment module was developed; and (iii) feedback by patients who received treatment using RSI methods show positive effects. The findings established a ground for Islamic Spiritual Reflexology to be highlighted as one of the branches of Islamic medical practice in helping people enjoy a healthy and prosperous life.
