Mosques have become strong evidence of the establishment of Islam in a place, including in the state of Pahang Darul Makmur. The rapid construction of new mosques has reduced the role of some of the old mosques so that some are abandoned, unmerged and change functions. Old mosques are defined as mosques that are 80 years old and above. However, some have an important history related to the development of Islam in the state of Pahang. This is due to the absence of a specific method or guideline on its management. Thus, this study was conducted aimed at identifying the existence of old mosques, studying the current methods of their conservation and proposing measures for their conservation. The methodology of this study is qualitatively based on field observation instruments on 7 mosques case study, interviews, and library study. While the data analysis is interpretive-descriptive and content analysis. As a result, the findings of the study have shown that there are still old mosques in the state of Pahang that have great potential to be preserved. The maintenance of its existence to date is through methods of restoration, exchange of functions, monitoring and relocation of locations. It is very desirable to be preserved through short -term actions such as the preparation of inventory, land gazetting, declaration as a "Heritage Mosque", the application to gazette as a National Heritage Building and the establishment of the Pahang State Old Mosque Conservation Committee. Meanwhile, long -term actions include the preparation of complete documentation, the issuance of reuse permits, the preparation of maintenance provisions, the establishment of specialized organizations and the strengthening of legal aspects. It is hoped that this study can help by suggesting some more old mosques that have the potential to be preserved. Furthermore, it can be nominated to the National Heritage Department to be assisted for conservation work and declared as a National Heritage Building Keywords : mosque, old mosque, heritage mosque, Islamic heritage, Islamic civilization.
