Online shopping is an online purchase for shoppers to save their time without leaving home to buy their needs. This is due to the country’s development and the increase of places where people can access the internet and given the opportunity for them to shop anywhere. It has resulted in an increase in the number of online shopping platforms. Offline shopping is a traditional method of shopping in which customers physically visit a store to buy their needs. This offline shopping costs the customer’s time and effort, but also provides enjoyment because they can evaluate the products, they wished to buy by themselves. The objectives of this study are to analyse the satisfaction of customers’ online and offline shopping in Malaysia, to analyse the preference for online shopping according to generation, and to analyse the preference for offline shopping according to generation. The data in this study will be collected using Twitter API, Shopee API, and questionnaires. Then, the data will be analysed using Python and Microsoft Excel. This study uses the sentiment analysis method to classify the reviews by good and bad. Results from Twitter and Shopee would help customers determine the quality in online or offline shopping of the products they want to buy. This study shows that the youth age segment (15 to 25 years old) is more likely to prefer online shopping while people from are middle-age segment (36 to 60 years old) are more likely to prefer to shop offline. The tweets and reviews that get from Twitter and Shopee show that customers’ satisfaction with online and offline shopping is neutral as both these shopping have their own good and bad.
