The teaching methods used by teachers in delivering Tajwid knowledge often employ conventional methods, which have a less thanoptimal impact on students' achievements. In addition, there are no systematic and innovative teaching guidelines that can help teachers plan and implement their lessons more effectively. This study aims to design and evaluate the Kaedah Yadun (KY) in the teaching of Tajwid knowledge on the achievement of secondary school students. The study was conducted using a mixed-method approach that involved both qualitative and quantitative research. The process of designing KY instruction based on the ADDIE instructional model framework is a qualitative study. Meanwhile, the quantitative study used a quasi-experimental method with a sample of moderately performing secondary school students divided into an experimental group (using KY) and a control group (using conventional methods). Data was obtained through pre-tests, post-tests, and follow-up tests to assess the effectiveness of KY on students' Tajwid knowledge achievement. The study results show that KY is an innovation that combines memorization, practical, visual, and edutainment approaches as an alternative to enhance the understanding and mastery of students with moderate performance in Tajwid knowledge. Meanwhile, the effectiveness analysis of KY was conducted using the Bonferroni method for paired comparisons, showing significant mean scores (14.606, p= <0.00) for the experimental group compared to the control group (-14.606, p= <0.00) in terms of knowledge and recitation of Tajwid rules. Additionally, KY can also enhance students' long-term memory, as evidenced by the significant difference in mean scores between the experimental group (13.460, p=<0.00) and the control group (-13.460, p=<0.00). This study emphasizes that the KY is an effective and relevant approach to enhancing the mastery and long-term memory of Tajwid knowledge among average-performing high school students. The implications of this study suggest the need for the integration of the KY into the Islamic education curriculum to ensure a more holistic effectiveness in the learning of Tajwid.
