Rice straw is made up of hemicelluloses, cellulose, lignin and ash, making it difficult to degrade naturally. In-situ burning is the most preferred method for decomposing the large amount of rice straw in a short period. Therefore, using enzyme released from rice straw isolated bacteria to manage its decomposition could potentially produce value-added products, offering a sustainable and beneficial approach to the rice straw returning process. This study aimed to analyze the enzyme activities of rice straw isolated bacteria in a standardized setting and to determine the potential higher enzyme activities bacteria strains. A total of 7 rice straw isolated bacteria and a positive control, Bacillus subtilis were used, and their xylanase activities was determined with the use of DNS method. Based on the results, B. subtilis (positive control) recorded the highest xylanase activity at 9.847 U/mL. K. quasipneumoniae A5(2) and B. velezensis C6(3) were the second and third highest xylanase producers (9.643 U/mL and 9.371 U/mL respectively). Staphylococcus sp C4(3b) also recorded high xylanase activity at 9.167 U/mL. In the previous study, Staphylococcus sp C4(3b) and Bacillus velezensis C6(3) are outstanding strains for releasing total cellulase of 0.0499 U/mL and 0.0403 U/mL respectively. Therefore, B. velezensis C6(3) and Staphylococcus sp C4(3b) are the potential strain that capable to speed up the biodegradation of rice straw. In one-way ANOVA statistical analysis, the value of ftest was smaller than fcritical (ftest < fcritical), while the P-value was larger than significant level (P-value > α = 0.05). There is no sufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis (H0), in conclusion, there is no significant xylanase activities difference across the bacterial ER -
