Kitab Sayr al-Sālikīn by Sheikh Abdul Samad al-Falimbānī is a work that contains teachings on aqeedah, fiqh, and tasawwuf, and includes a variety of hadiths. This book is of great importance in the context of religious education in the Malay world, as it is often used as a reference in traditional Islamic schools, particularly in Malaysia. Nevertheless, it is appropriate to examine the authenticity of its contents, as there are several issues related to the hadiths included. One major issue is that most of the hadiths in this book are presented only with their matn and without their isnād. Accordingly, the objectives of this study are to identify the original sources of the hadiths in the Chapter on Fasting in Sayr al-Sālikīn, to assess the status of these hadiths based on the evaluations of hadith scholars, and to categorise them into maqbūl, mardūd but still actionable, and mardūd that cannot be acted upon. This study employs a qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the issue through a case study. Data were collected using document analysis, involving the review of books, journals, articles, and other relevant sources. The information was analysed inductively and deductively; inductive analysis involved drawing conclusions from the data examined, while deductive analysis served as the reverse process. In addition, a comparative method was used to identify similarities and differences between related views or contexts. The methods of takhrīj al-hadīth, hadith grading, and classification into maqbūl or mardūd as outlined by hadith scholars were also applied. The combination of these methods enabled the researcher to obtain a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the topic under study. Based on the findings from the 47 hadiths examined, 43 were found to have original sources, while 4 had no identifiable source. Of the 43 sourced hadiths, 31 were graded as sahih, 1 as hasan, 6 as da’if, 1 as syadīd al-da’if, and 4 as mawḍū‘. From this data, 32 hadiths were classified as maqbūl, 6 as mardūd but still actionable, and 5 as mardūd and not actionable. In conclusion, out of the 47 hadiths examined, only 5 could not be used as evidence. Keywords: Hadith, Verification, Accepted, Rejected, Evidence.
