Chitosan is a marine polymer that has a high adsorption capacity and easily absorbs pollutants at low to high concentrations. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to synthesize chitosan-anatase TiO2 nanocomposites by using the feasible one-step method and to observe their structural, morphology, chemical and optical characteristics. The preparation of chitosan-anatase TiO2 in different weight concentrations which are 3 wt%, 6 wt%, and 9 wt% samples were prepared by using Liquid Phase Deposition (LPD) Method. The pre-cleaned Indium Titanium Oxide (ITO) substrate was immersed and hung into the growth solution. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the successful synthesis of chitosan-anatase TiO₂ across 3 different chitosan concentrations, with distinct anatase peaks in all samples. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) revealed that increased chitosan concentration led to higher film thickness, aggregation, and surface roughness. EnergyDispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy verified the presence of chitosan and TiO₂ in all samples, while Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) indicated effective bonding and interaction between components. UV-Vis spectroscopy showed improved light absorption with higher chitosan concentrations. The findings highlight the influence of chitosan concentration on the structural and functional properties of TiO₂, paving the way for sustainable and efficient materials in environmental application UR - https://umpir.ump.edu.my/id/eprint/45981 ER -
