Synthesized with isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and characterized through Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and mechanical testing, the results indicated that incorporating methacrylated lignin improved mechanical strength and thermal stability, while AEPO enhanced crosslinking, rigidity, and high-temperature stability. Optimal AEPO-lignin ratios yielded foams with superior stiffness, structural integrity, and thermal resistance; however, excessive lignin reduced density, increased brittleness, and limited water absorption due to decreased porosity. Water uptake analysis demonstrated a balance between hydrophilicity and crosslinking, with some compositions exceeding 280% saturation, while mechanical testing revealed that balanced formulations provided better load-bearing capacities compared to those with high lignin content, which compromised performance. Overall, the study highlights the potential of lignin and AEPO-based polyurethane foams as promising sustainable alternatives with tailored properties for various industrial applications UR - https://umpir.ump.edu.my/id/eprint/46062 ER -
