Dissolved and suspended parts of the trace metals (Ca, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cr, Ni, K, Mg, Na, Fe, Mn, Al, As) along the Kuantan River Basin were investigated. The water samples were collected from seven stations in July and November 2024, coinciding with the dry and wet seasons. The concentrations of suspended and dissolved trace metals were analyzed using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP−MS). The average concentrations of suspended Ca, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cr, Ni, K, Mg, Na, Fe, Mn, Al, As during dry season were (ppb): 323±116, 12.2±8.91, 1.11±0.59, 13.3±5.74, 4920±7730, 2020±3150, 202±52.6, 299±133, 905±403, 25900±36500, 289±412, 680±595, 129±46.6, respectively. Meanwhile, the concentrations of dissolved trace metals were (ppb): 12100±11800, 143±163, 0.12±0.14, 49.1±33.1, 1.59±2.76, 2.24±1.09, 3220±924, 3030±2660, 4860±3190, 189±161, 93.1±34.7, 29.5±16.1, 8.96±8.33, respectively. Also, the average concentrations of suspended trace metals during wet season were (ppb): 428±31.9, 12.1±5.56, 2.42±0.83, 23.9±3.76, 23.3±1.16, 4.88±2.38, 357±77.9, 659±294, 955±88.7, 4590±1480, 20±8.78, 2180±840, 184±6.47, respectively. Meanwhile, the average concentrations of dissolved trace metals were (ppb): 1320±743, 2.70±1.08, 1.90±2.60, 26.9±2.43, 0.17±0.23, 1.71±0.73, 1370±419, 1670±1390, 3070±2620, 37±23.3, 23.6±9.77, 33.4±12.8, 2.96±0.87, respectively. Besides, the impact of seasonal changes on trace metal concentrations were considered in the study. The results revealed that there were significant varies in the trace metal concentrations as the response to the form of trace metals (suspended and dissolved), geographical location of the rivers and seasonal differences. In summary, this study serves as a valuable reference on trace metal concentrations in Kuantan River Basin
