The Thymelaeaceae family includes Mahkota dewa as well as Phaleria Macrocarpa is a well-known herbal plant used by locals to treat diseases like cancer, high blood pressure, and diabetes mellitus. The objective of this study is to extract the bioactive compounds from Mahkota Dewa fruits using microwave assisted extraction (MAE) method with cosolvent The effect of process parameters which are concentrations of co-solvent, namely ethanol (20 to 80 %w/w ethanol) and microwave temperature (40 to 80°C) on the total phenolic compound (TPC), antioxidant activity and mangiferin yield were investigated. To analyze phenolic compounds, Follin-Ciocalteu (FC) reagaent were used. The antioxidant activity present in the extract using 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay and mangiferin yield were characterized using highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC) respectively. The results show that the parameters such as concentration of co-solvent and extraction temperature have an essential effect on the TPC, antioxidant activity and mangiferin yield. The best experimental conditions for microwave-assisted extraction of Mahkota Dewa fruit is 20 %w/w concentration of ethanol and 70°C extraction temperature with TPC of 21.49 ± 0.81 mGAE/g extract and 54.60 ± 1.42 % of DPPH inhibition for antioxidant activity and mangiferin yield of 4.00 %w/w.
