This thesis explores the selection of concentration of lactose monohydrate for the development of quercetin supplement tablets with the aim of enhancing the solubility of quercetin tablets. Various technologies have been used to produce a quality vitamin supplement. Various research and development (R&D) processes are also carried out to obtain the best formulas and quality products. This thesis aims to find out the effectiveness of lactose monohydrate to enhance solubility of quercetin tablets. This study varying concentrations of lactose monohydrate in range 5% until 15% on the solubility, dissolution rate and physical and mechanical properties including hardness, weight variation, friability and disintegration time of quercetin tablets. The methodology encompasses assessing the granulation process by using sieve. Then, the granule went for drying process with the temperature of 50 ᵒC and lastly using the tablet press machine for tablet compression. Additionally, few testing is conducted to understand their physical and mechanical properties. The hardness testing, friability testing, weight variation, dissolution testing and disintegration testing result are recorder and compared with the standard. The result indicate 10% of lactose monohydrate as an optimal concentration due to its superior value of each testing conducted. The developed quercetin tablet with 10% lactose monohydrate exhibit faster dissolution time suggesting a promising stable quercetin tablets.
