This thesis presents the fabrication and characterization of nanofibers loaded with Curcuma longa extract, utilizing poly lactic acid (PLA) and gelatin, with nano cellulose (NCC) as a carrier for antimicrobial applications. The study aims to address the growing demand for organic, biodegradable antimicrobial materials in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors. The research involves several phases, including the extraction of Curcuma longa extract, the fabrication of PLA-gelatin-NCC nanofibers using needleless electrospinning, and the morphological characterization of the nanofibers through scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The antimicrobial efficacy of the nanofibers against various bacterial strains is also examined. The findings indicate that the incorporation of Curcuma longa extract and NCC significantly enhances the antimicrobial properties and mechanical strength of the nanofibers. This research contributes to the development of sustainable solutions for wound healing and tissue engineering applications, highlighting the potential of natural extracts in creating effective antimicrobial materials.
