The development of efficient and sustainable gas adsorption materials is critical for addressing environmental challenges and optimizing energy processes. This study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of bimetallic Cu/Fe – Metal Organic Framework (MOFs) as solid adsorbents for CO2 capture. The Cu/Fe – MOFs were synthesized using copper sulphate and iron nitrate, followed by characterization through FTIR, SEM – EDX, XRD, TGA and BET surface area analysis to confirm their structural properties and porosity. The adsorption performance of Cu/Fe-MOFs was evaluated under varying dosages, pressures, and temperatures to identify optimal conditions for gas capture. Results demonstrated that increasing adsorbent dosage enhanced adsorption capacities up to a saturation point, ensuring efficient and cost-effective utilization. Pressure had a positive impact on gas adsorption, while higher temperatures reduced adsorption efficiency due to lower gas affinity. The FTIR analysis confirmed successful coordination of metal centers with organic linkers, while SEM revealed uniform crystal morphology. This research provides valuable insights into the design and optimization of bimetallic MOFs for gas separation processes, offering a promising solution for greenhouse gas mitigation and energy resource management.
