Corrosion is a huge problem in every industrial system. As a result of its widespread usage in this age of industrialization, aluminum metal especially have enormous annual losses due to corrosion problem. Scientists are have been putting much effort on the lookout for effective anti-corrosion strategies. Corrosion may be reduced in a number of ways, but many of them are harmful to the environment, so it’s important to find a greener alternative that is environmentally friendly. Corrosion inhibitors in aluminum alloys can be found in Strobilanthes Crispus (Black Face General) plant extract. In this research, we found that aluminum metal in 0.1M HCl solution was inhibited by plant extract. Samples of Al are submerged in 0.1M HCl solutions with and without an inhibitor for a total of 12 days. The weight-loss technique is employed to determine the effectiveness of the green inhibitor, The BFG extract efficiency resulting of 86.67% . After being submerged in an inhibitory solution, the aluminum metal surface developed a bio-film that act as protective layer preventing corrosion. Green inhibitors those are present on the surface of the aluminum alloys are less corrosive confirmed by the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) analysis. The chemical particles were found to be present as a coating over AL alloy surfaces, as determined by EDS (Energy Dispersion Spectroscopy) testing. In 0.1M HCl acidic solution, Al corrosion is inhibited effectively against corrosion in acidic medium with the help of the BFG plant extract.
