<br/><br/> Road is a major transportation in Malaysia and mostly managed by Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR). Improper geological site investigation done before building the road will give lots of problem to the pavement structure. The poor quality of road also causes growth in accident risk and social economic problem in developing countries such as Malaysia. The study area of this thesis is along KM 9.0 Kuantan to KM 46.0 Pekan Federal Road. The objective in this thesis is to study the settlement phenomena and to establish a database of settlement using Geographical Information System (GIS) technique. This software is used to determine the critical area and analyze the soil settlement along the road. By using ArcView 3.3, it does analysis of such complicated information. The attribute data of the soil and road was collected to develop database. The database demonstrates the system to analyze the soil settlement by boreholes and buffer analysis. The result of the established database includes higher settlement area and the type of ground treatment along the road, development of spatial database and analysis the data model of study area. After the analysis, it was concluded the information about the road such as “Critical Area”.
