N2  - Air-transportations has become one of the major transportations used in Malaysia aside from its capability being as an important socio-economic center which resulted by the emergence of trading industry. Generally, its greater performances are largely depends on its airfields conditions which represents significant investment strategies that need to be preserved for future generations that can only be achieved through regular maintenance. Furthermore, through the evidence from aircraft overrun and run-off incidents and accidents indicates that in many cases inadequate runway friction characteristics or aircraft braking performance was the primary cause or at least a contributory factor. The study was conducted at Kuantan Airport terminal in order to identify airfield friction capacity by using Polished Stone Value (PSV) Test. The interviews was conducted with the airport authority staff as they are responsible to maintain the runway condition and the friction test of airfields friction capacity which known generally known as Polished Stone Value (PSV) test. The finding from this study shows that the friction capacities available on Kuantan Airport Runway are still operable which 65 during dry and 62 during wet condition thus still above the level agreed (65±5). Finally, it is suggested to use High Pressure Water Blast Methods in removing the contaminants drags as the feasible solution in maintaining friction capacity on runway surface. -Author
