Nowadays; the high demand of river sand is an indication of development in the construction industry. Thus, the need for an alternative aggregate for river sand is emphasized and viable alternativ.e to replace river sand• is by using sea sand. The chloride level and the aggregate size grading were considered to be the major problems. Yet the chloride level was proved to be a weakness. Therefore• before using the sea sand, it should be washed to reduce its chloride content to acceptable level. This is to• ensure that it would not. corrode the reinforcement in concretes. Building structures that have crack need to be repaired immediately to reduce more damages to the structures and to ensure that the structures are safe to be used. One of the techniques for repairing structures is by using mortar that is made from a specified method and exact materials like ordinary• Portland-cement, river sand, sea sand and water. In this study, several experiments need to be performed to determine the chloride content and grading size of the sea sand. The compressive and flexural strength also need to be performed to study the comparison strength using river sand and sea sand for repairing purposes. The ratio cement to sea sand in this study is 1 :4. Six beams sizes 500x 100x100mm are prepared for repairing work. The area of damage of beams that have been prepared to be repaired• is 100x50x50mm. Results showed that the properties and strength of the sea sand samples have exceeded its standard limit and are suitable to be used in'construction and as repairing materials. -Author
