The aim of the study is to run a simulation of biaxial testing on ploymeric foam cores material. Polymeric foam cores is known for their high strength performance but at the same time has a low weight making them a major player in nowdays industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and construction. The knowledge about biaxial loading crucially important in sandwich structure material since they undergoing complex loading when subjected to specific loading. Highly stress concentration causing the multiaxial stress and strain at the specific loading area of foam materials. Sandwich materials with thin composite face sheets and a low density foam core are notoriously sensitive to failure by localized external loads causing significant local deflection at specific area. Data from experiment is crucially important as an input before the simulation can be run .By doing simulation using finite element analysis we can identify characteristic of polymeric from the curve graph that we obtain from the experiment. From the graph also the yield stress and young modulus of polymeric foam cores can be identified. Besides, we can devalop a standard simulation testing method to validate the result obtained from the experiment. In the future, the testing method can be applied to any type of polymeric foam cores instead Polyurathene foam that we used in this study.
