Kuala Lumpur city center is no exception to this problem. In fact, the extent of development has encroached to the most upstream area of the catchment. This phenomenon has caused serious flash flooding to the downstream area. Reliable estimation of runoff is key to flood forecasting and mitigation. However, estimation of stonnwater runoff from urbanized area has always been tricky especially with changing catchment boundary and with no established method for urbanized catchment in Malaysia. This study aims to look at two methods available within HEC-HMS model to transfonn effective rainfall to the outlet. Snyder and Clark time area methods were applied to a catchment area that has been developed in Kuala Lumpur. These methods have been selected because the parameter and the data are not much and there are very suitable. Data, which is used for the calibration, is data for the rainfall event on 15th April 2004 at every one minute produced the efficiency index of 96%. The current channel capacity is 37 m3/s and the results generated by HEC-HMS for 100 years ARI has only shown a peak flow of 8.22m3/s.-Author. 0aUrban runoffxManagement 0aLand usexEnvironmental aspects 0aWater quality management 0aHydrologyxStatistical methods 00104071a10000b10000d2019-09-04l0oTD657.5 .Y37 2006 rs Thesisp0000030415r2019-09-04 00:00:00t1w2019-09-04yPSM aVIRTUA40c2612d2618 aVTLSSORT0080*0200*0400*0900*1000*2450*2600*3000*5020*5200*6500*6501*6502*6503*9992
