One of the modification multiplier factors to calculate wind speed pressures are terrain type and height above ground. The objective of this study is to propose new terrain height multiplier for terrain type 3: sub urban area. According to MS 1553:2002 terrain height multiplier are identify as Mz,cat. Seberang Jaya Telecommunication Tower is chosen as a case study to represent terrain type 3. In Malaysia only Seberang Jaya Telecommunication Tower has 3 levels of wind sensors in order to study wind speed vertical profile. Wind speed profiles commonly expressed by power law profile because it is more popular equation has been use all the world in most of the major codes of practice. Coefficient terrain height multiplier Mz,cat has been determined using power law profile Seberang Jaya Perai Region. From the result Mz,cat was found to be lower than the values recommendation in MS 1553:2002 which is base on Australia Standard AS 1170.2 The comparison coefficient terrain height multiplier, Mz,cat proposed between the other codes of practices such as ASCE 7-98, NBCC-1996, AIJ-1996, Euro Code and BS 6399 is different to each other. This result is expected due to difference of wind speed data in each country.-Author 0aWind-pressure 0aStandards, EngineeringzMalaysia 00104071a10000b10000d2019-09-04l0oTH891 .R67 2006 rs Thesisp0000030417r2019-09-04 00:00:00t1w2019-09-04yPSM aVIRTUA40c667d673 aVTLSSORT0080*0200*0400*0900*1000*2450*2600*3000*5020*5200*6500*6501*9992
