<br/><br/> Construction industry is leading other industries in frequency of injuries and fatalities. Therefore, in this study, the factors that influence the safety performance at the construction sites are discussed. In addition, perceptions on safety issues are also discussed in terms of preventive measures, safety knowledge and accidents at site. Closed-ended questionnaires and open-ended questionnaires were used and distributed to the respondents in the construction industry. Data from closed-ended questionnaire was analyzed using ranking method and percentage analysis whilst the data from the open-ended questionnaire was meant to get engineers' opinion subjectively. From the findings, it revealed that most influential factors that influenced safety performance is the background of safety training. It was followed by technical, job experience, environmental, psychological and economical factors. This fmding also showed that the level of engineers' perceptions towards safety issues at the construction site is high and most of the construction firms are really concerned on their safety performance.  -Author
