Spillway toe, weir bed and downstream of river are the points of critical erosion potentiaL To prevent scour at the points of critical erosion potential and minimize the potential for downstream erosion, a flow transition structure is needed to absorb the initial impact of flow and to reduce the speed of the flow to a non-erosive velocity. Energy dissipators are engineered devices such as rip-rap aprons or concrete baftles are constructed for the purpose of reducing the velocity, energy and turbulence of the discharged flow. Flip bucket is used as the experimental energy dissipating structure in this study. Various trajectory angles of flip bucket models are been tested to obtain the trajectory distances and impact angles ofthe water flow. The comparison the experimental results and theoretical results can be determined through the plotted graph. -Author
