Building Information Modelling (BIM) is one of modern technology that promising a lot of benefits towards architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries. The potential of BIM will improve overall in the construction performance in term of cost effectiveness, increase quality of project and reduce time to develop the project. It helps architects, engineers, clients, and constructors to visualize what is to be built in through a 3D model and identify potential design, construction or operational problems. In Malaysia, BIM has introduced to AEC industry by public work department(PWD) since 2007, but the rate of implementing BIM is still very low within construction projects. Thus, this study is focusing in identifying the critical success factors for enhancing BIM implementation in Malaysia. To achieve the aim of the study, related objective been set which are study the current situation of BIM adoption in the construction industry, level of awareness among stakeholders and identify CSFs for implementing of BIM. Factors have been identified through literature review and modified by pilot study to suit the situation in Malaysia. These CSFs are classified into four categories are management, process, people, and technology. Consequently, data analysis has done to identify the most critical success factors that play a main role in enhancing implementation of building information modelling by using relative importance index (RII) analysis method.
