However, the adoption of concrete recycling practices still needs to grow to grow to grow in many countries, including Malaysia, primarily due to project managers' reluctance. This study aims to identify the barriers hindering concrete recycling implementation and the critical success factors necessary for its adoption. To achieve the research objective, a mixed-method approach is employed, combining interview data with project managers and a questionnaire survey. Thirteen specific barriers affecting decision-making in implementing concrete recycling in Malaysia are identified through qualitative analysis of interview data. Additionally, ten critical success factors for successful concrete recycling implementation are determined. The significance of this study lies in its contribution to the understanding of factors influencing the acceptance of concrete recycling from the perspective of industry practitioners. The insights gained from this research can assist both researchers and industry practitioners in developing strategies to address the identified barriers and increase acceptance of concrete recycling among project managers. Ultimately, the findings aim to enhance the overall success of concrete recycling implementation in Malaysia's construction industry and promote sustainable waste management practices.
