520	3		_aSuruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) is a public body formed by the merger of the Malaysian Register of Companies (ROC) and the Register of Companies (ROB) that regulates businesses and companies. As a leading institution for improving corporate governance, SSM ensures company registration and compliance with the Companies Act through comprehensive enforcement and monitoring activities to maintain the positive development of the country's enterprises and business sectors. SSM regulates companies and businesses, every year each company or business is required to file an annual return with SSM. Annual return is required to be filed each year, but there are still lawbreakers who do not file their annual return or struggle to do so on time. Faced with this problem, this study aims on finding the factors that lead to these types of problems, seeks the most significant factors that affect the annual return submission and creates a predictive model using polynomial regression model to forecast the number of annual return submissions. This study would be using both descriptive and predictive approach to achieve all the objectives. Through this research, SSM will be able to gain insight on how to greatly simplify document submissions to avoid this issue in the future. Data that would be used to achieve the objective of this study are number of annual return submissions, number of companies’ secretaries resign, total winding up of companies, total striking off companies, natural disasters occurrence in Malaysia, gross domestic product (GDP), total of corruption complaints in Malaysia, exchange rate and consumer price index (CPI). All the data is collected monthly and obtained from SSM as well as other open data sources. Based on the findings, all the factors have a weak correlation against the number of annual return submission to SSM. The highest correlation recorded is 0.38 which is the total count of companies strike off. The most significant factor impacting the annual return submission to SSM is the GDP with a polynomial degree two since it has the smallest p-value among the other regressors.
