520 3 _aThe Hevea brasiliensis rubber tree is the source of raw latex, a vital natural resource with a wide range of industrial uses. Despite its importance, the quality of raw latex and its subsequent industrial use are significantly hampered by bacterial degradation. Our study looks into the identification and isolation of the bacteria that break down raw latex in order to address this issue. In order to determine whether bacteria can break down latex, the experiment entails exposing raw latex samples to latex overlay. Furthermore, FTIR analysis and SEM were used to examine the degradation process, and biochemical tests and Sanger sequencing were used to identify the bacteria. The findings show that bacteria Lysinibacillus xylanilyticus and Stenotrophomonas geniculata are present in natural latex and that it has the capacity to break down natural latex. In line with theoretical predictions, there is a concurrent decrease in both the dry rubber content and the total solid content, highlighting the bacteria's encouraging potential to improve the microbiological quality and stability of raw latex for industrial uses.
