520 3 _aThe Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) has brought about a significant paradigm shift in the construction industry, known globally and in Malaysia as Construction 4.0 technologies. However, the implementation of these technologies hindered by a lack of informed decision-making to align with core organizational values. This include: sustainability & resiliency, well-being, productivity, safety & health and integrity. Most organizations face difficulties for selecting appropriate Construction 4.0 technologies, leading to issues such as unsustainable practices, stressful environments, poor productivity, low safety & health performance, and a lack of integrity. A critical research gap exists in the literature, with limited works exploring various Construction 4.0 technologies aligned with different organizational core values. Notably, there is an absence of a decision support tool (DST) specifically developed for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies aligned with organizational core values. Consequently, it often resulting in poor decision-making and organizations missed opportunities to achieve organizational core values. To address this gap, this research aims to develop a DST to assist decision-makers for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies aligned with organizational core values. To accomplish the aim, three objectives were formulated: (1) to evaluate the weightage of the selection criteria (organizational core values) for the development of a DST for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies (2) to design a DST that incorporates significant improvements for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies; and (3) to test the DST for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies by evaluating tool usability, technology rankings, and satisfaction and confidence levels. Five organizational core values and twelve Construction 4.0 technologies were identified from the Malaysian Construction 4.0 Strategic Plan. An integration of MCDM with fuzzy set theory, specifically the fuzzy TOPSIS was employed to evaluate the selection criteria weightage. This evaluation engaged 14 national Construction 4.0 experts through purposive sampling. The finding revealed productivity as the most important core value, followed by integrity, well-being, safety & health, and sustainability & resiliency. Using these fuzzy TOPSIS weightages, a DST named Construction 4.0 Technology Selector (C4TS) was designed. Three pilot tests were conducted with built environment students to refine the C4TS and the quasi-experiment instrument. The final version of C4TS was distributed to 150 industry professionals through purposive sampling. A total of 50 industry professionals participated (33% response rate) through face-to-face sessions, online meetings, and LinkedIn contacts. Results from pre- and post-activity surveys showed a positive shift in perceptions of the tool’s potential. Additionally, respondents using C4TS tool demonstrated stronger agreement in technology rankings and higher satisfaction and confidence levels compared to those making decisions without the tool. C4TS’s usability validation via the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 60.80, indicating acceptable usability with a low margin. Importantly, the C4TS tool represents a novel DST for selecting Construction 4.0 technologies aligned with organizational core values, bridging the gap between theory and practice. By integrating MCDM and fuzzy set theory input, the novel C4TS empowers decision-makers, to make informed decisions aligned with their strategic core values. Beyond organizational benefits, the tool encourages technology implementation among investors and supports policymakers in formulating digital transformation strategies for the construction industry.
