520 3 _aDriven by the need for sustainable waste management, this study explores the recovery and characterization of valuable silica oxide from silica sludge through acid leaching, minimizing environmental impact and promoting resource recovery. This research investigates the optimal combination of acid concentration, reaction temperature, and solid-liquid ratio for the acid leaching process, aiming to achieve high-purity silica extraction. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the extracted silica, its elemental composition, morphology, pore structure, and crystallinity are investigated through advanced techniques like SEM-EDX, BET, and XRD. By optimizing acid concentration (2M), solid/liquid ratio (0.17), and temperature (74°C), the study achieved remarkable silica purity, reaching a level of 1108 ppm, demonstrating successful extraction and purification. The characterized silica exhibits an amorphous structure with desirable mesoporous properties, making it highly suitable for a wide range of potential applications in diverse industries. This study not only helps the environment by using the waste, but it also helps us learn more about how to get and use silica better in the future.
