520 3 _aBinary liquid mixtures of ether and alcohol have numerous applications, particularly as oxygenate additives in fuel blending, which enhance combustion efficiency and reduce harmful emissions. These mixtures are increasingly studied for their potential in improving fuel performance, making it crucial to understand their key thermophysical properties such as density and viscosity. The accurate prediction of these properties is vital for designing processes and optimizing industrial applications. This research focuses on evaluating several predictive models to determine the most accurate one for binary mixtures of ether and alcohol. Using Excel Solver, density predictions were based on reduced temperature, critical density, and the acentric factor of alcohols, while viscosity predictions required iterative adjustments to minimize errors below 5%. This method ensures the coefficients are optimized for accurate results. The results indicate that for density, the Jouyban-Acree model is the most accurate with 0% error, which indicates near-perfect agreement with experimental data. In contrast, the Mchaweh-Nasrifah-Mashfeghian model exhibits the highest error exceeding 25%, making it unsuitable for the systems studied. For viscosity, all models provided acceptable predictions with errors below 5%, but the Auslander model achieved 0% error, making it the best alongside Jouyban-Acree. These models were effective in minimizing errors and producing reliable coefficients that can be applied for future viscosity predictions. Furthermore, the viscosity trend highlights that ethers generally exhibit lower viscosity compared to alcohols, with n-butanol demonstrating higher viscosity than isopropanol due to stronger intermolecular forces. In conclusion, the Jouyban-Acree model is the most reliable for both density and viscosity predictions, while the Auslander model is ideal for viscosity.
