520 3 _aThis study focuses on the development of copper metal-organic framework (Cu-MOF) adsorbents for the capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4). Cu-MOFs exhibit unique properties such as high porosity, tunable pore sizes, and open metal sites that enable efficient adsorption of these greenhouse gases. The research aims to synthesize, characterize, and evaluate the performance of Cu-MOF adsorbents for CO2 and CH4 capture. The synthesized Cu-MOFs are analyzed using techniques like X-ray diffraction (XRD) to determine their crystalline structure and phase purity, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis to measure their surface area and porosity, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to visualize their morphology and particle size, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to provide insights into their chemical bonding and functional groups. Adsorption studies are conducted to assess the CO2 and CH4 uptake capacities of the developed adsorbents under varying conditions of pressure and temperature. The findings provide insights into the potential of Cu-MOFs as viable and sustainable alternatives for the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. The results demonstrate that Cu-MOFs possess the necessary structural and chemical properties to effectively capture and store CO2 and CH4, highlighting their promise as advanced materials for environmental remediation and carbon capture technologies.
